Bookbinder specialising in the restoration, repair and refurbishment of antiquarian and collectable books.
Thank you for visiting my website.
I am a professionally trained bookbinder and restorer based in East Sussex, with over 30 years practical experience offering a range of services to repair and restore damaged book bindings in leather, vellum, cloth and paper.
Detached covers and bindings, missing spines, worn corners and other faults can often be remedied without the need to rebind a rare, cherished or collectable book, so increasing its aesthetic as well as monetary value.
I possess a large stock of contemporary handmade and marbled endpapers dating from the 17th to 19th centuries, enabling me to offer a replacement service for missing flyleaves if a suitable match can be found.
I also offer an economic refurbishment service for worn and 'tired' bindings where an actual repair is not yet necessary, but the fabric of the binding is starting to disintegrate. This process can literally add years to the life of a bookbinding that would otherwise fall into disrepair.
Please click on the links at the top of this page to see more information on the services that I offer and examples of my work.
If you would like to discuss a book that you are considering having repaired, please feel free to contact me by phone or email. I can often assess a job and offer a quotation for repairs on receipt of a few photographs of the book in question along with its dimensions, sent by email using the link below.
